GRAFFITI tagging has been a problem in some areas of Launceston over the last few months and members of the Launceston Policing Team have been working hard to catch those responsible and to prevent further graffiti occurring.

A police spokesman said that this week, a 15-year-old local youth has been issued with a final warning by the police after admitting to causing damage to property by graffiti tagging that had resulted in 14 crimes being recorded.

Some of this damage has been to private property and some to public property, including a cemetery.

Police are continuing to work with the community identify other offenders and to develop preventative measures.

The local policing team urge anyone with information relating to the identity of those responsible for this vandalism to get in touch.

People can contact the police directly at Launceston Police Station by phone on 08452 777444 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. All information is treated in confidence.
