WITH a changeable weather pattern over the weekend, members of the Holsworthy Moorland Training Group (HMTG) faced a number of challenges during the Ten Tors event.
It started with heavy rain at 7am on Saturday, clearing for some sun and wind in the afternoon. On Sunday, fog and mist greeted them as they awoke from their overnight camp, but both teams got to the finish complete and in very good times.
This year HMTG had two 35-mile teams participating in the challenge, a first for the group.
The A team of Emily Shepherd, Mitch Acres, TJ Acres, Rory O'Neill, Chelsea Greenaway and Elliot Pomeroy all came home smiling and in good form after an excellent performance, both in speed and accuracy brought them in at 11.27am.
The B team of Tyler Lavender, Alex Cole, Jo Meredith, William Bromell, Thomas Nancekivell and Dominic Fairbrass also impressed as they made it home at around 1.30pm. As it was the team's first time in the event it was an excellent result.
In the 45-mile category Holly Brauns and Courtney Fairbrass, both from Holsworthy, joined a team from East Devon for the challenge and successfully completed the distance, finishing mid-afternoon.
It was another successful year for the group and their teams who represented Holsworthy so well.
