CAMELFORD showed some excellent second half rugby but unfortunately gave St Day too much respect in the first quarter allowing the visitors to get on top early. St Day were 33 points to 5 in the ascendancy by the break but could only manage a further 5 points to Camelford's 12.
This game was preceded by a minute's silence in memory of Ross Neilsson who was a new player for Camelford in the previous encounter with St Day this season. Twenty year old Ross tragically died following an accident on a recent night out. He was the flat mate and friend of Jamie Evans who has been a stalwart for the 'Ford' since the club began.
Within two minutes St Day notched their first score with a converted try and this was swiftly added to as their highly elusive No 8 ran in after just seven minutes. At 14 nil down Camelford were looking like they were to be on the receiving end of another rout. This proved not to be the case, but their poor tackling was allowing St Day to stroll around too easily.
