WE HAVE just read your article 'Postal vote arrives 15 minutes before polls closed' (the 'Post', June 11).
We applied for postal votes in early May and received an acceptance letter. On May 18 we still hadn't received anything so we phoned up to be told all letters had been sent out and if we hadn't received ours by the next day to phone again. When we tried to phone the next day we got a recorded voice to say no one was available to take any calls as they were busy with the elections but to ring a Wadebridge number only to be told they couldn't help us.
We went off on holiday on June 1 unable to vote. On our return there was still no voting papers. We phoned up again and we were told they had a problem getting them out. We think this is disgraceful as we wished to vote. Good job this wasn't a General Election.
