AN outstanding sum was raised for local charity Bowel Cancer West from a Corporate Golf Day which was recently held at Trethorne Golf Club, Tregadillett.

A total of £2,681.95 was raised for the charity primarily through donated raffle prizes and auction items, and the Trethorne team would like to thank all of our sponsors for their generosity.

Carol Reip from Trethorne Golf Club comments: "The day was a fantastic success with 18 teams of four battling it out in warm, sunny conditions. The eventual winners with 80 points were the team from Tamar View Fruiterers led by Francis Barrett.

"We are delighted to have the local support to make this day enjoyable for all that participated and raise a substantial sum for our selected charity for this event."
