FIRE crews were called to reports of a fire in an extractor fan at Holsworthy Golf Club, at around 8.20am last Friday.
Two fire appliances from Holsworthy and Bude were mobilised, following a call from staff at the golf club.
Shortly after arriving crews confirmed that smoke was issuing from the kitchen area and set to work with two breathing apparatus wearers and one hose reel jet.
Shortly after 9am, crews had extinguished the fire, located in an extractor fan in the utility area of the kitchen, also using a dry powder extinguisher, ladder, thermal imaging camera and small tools.
The cause was accidental — believed to be a fault — and once crews were satisfied that there were no more hotspots within the extractor fan, duty of care was left with staff awaiting the arrival of an electrician.
The fire service said no persons were involved or injured.
