A GROUP of 'Godmothers' — women who are all Godmothers to each other's children — are organising a trio of events to raise money for charities close to their hearts.

Following two local evening events, Anne Curtis, Helen Scott, Rachel Sleep and Fiona Gerry will be taking to the skies on June 28 to jump out of a plane in the hope of reaching their fundraising goal of £5,000.

The Godmothers have already held a Race Night at Eagle House Hotel, Launceston, in February, which raised £1,690.

The event attracted 150 people, who experienced all the thrills of a day at the races by betting on horse races shown on a large screen, while enjoying cheese and nibbles courtesy of Dairy Crest and Tesco.

The next event for the calendar is a wine and wisdom night, being held at The White Hart Hotel in Launceston on Saturday, April 18. Tickets are £5 per person and a table can be reserved through the venue or one of the Godmothers. Everyone is welcome to show their support at what promises to be another fun-packed evening.
