IT TURNED out to be a glorious day, after all the gloom and wet, on which to hold St Breward Church’s annual Easter Coffee Morning.

The profit from the successful and cheery morning realised an excellent £420 net.

It was reported that the ‘Easter Table’ was different this time with a tombola in the manner of a map of Cornwall — where people could pull out a pin and see the variety of Easter treats they might win!

A queue quickly formed, eager to take part.

The Easter theme was carried through on the cake stall and raffle. Books sold well as usual and the bric-a-brac had some interesting items for sale. The kitchen was busy throughout serving refreshments, including hot cross muffins — an Easter treat!

Finally, the fruit basket raffle produced a surprising result when the winner elected to have the basket auctioned, selling for £20.

Caroline Hooper, St Breward parochial church council treasurer and events co-ordinator said ‘well done everyone’ as she advised on the funds raised towards the church.
