HATS off to Holsworthy Rotary Club as its members are set to put on their annual musical charity extravaganza this March.

Held in the HATS Theatre in Bodmin Street on Friday, March 18, the extravaganza will enable the Rotary Club to raise funds that will be donated to one of the many charitable causes they support.

The Rotary Club meets weekly in Holsworthy and has been involved with such projects as the Long House Appeal, Carewise drop-in centre, local explorer Scouts and youth leadership skills.

National charities Rotary supports include Macmillan Cancer Care, Cystic Fibrosis appeal, CHICKS, ShelterBox, Devon Air Ambulance and the School in a Bag initiative aimed at helping disadvantaged children abroad.

The Rotary’s musical extravaganza will raise necessary funds so it can continue to support others on a local and national scale.

Tickets are on sale at Woolacotts in The Square, Holsworthy for £8 each.

The Rotary organisation was first formed in the USA on February 23, 1905 and was named after the original members used to rotate their meeting places.

Within 20 years it had grown to include more than 2,000 clubs across six continents.

Holsworthy Rotary Club is a completely charitable organisation and part of International Rotary, which in association with Microsoft’s Bill Gates, helped to banish polio in all but a tiny area of the planet.
