Participants of the London to Paris ride cycle from the London Eye to the Eiffel Tower , completing a total of 285 miles over four days. Nineteen cyclists with a range of abilities took part in the event.
Geoff said: “This was one of the most challenging and rewarding things that I’ve ever done.
“It was physically very tough and we experienced some appalling weather for two days of the event. However, this was a team event and the mutual support of my fellow riders was immense”.
Starting on September 11 the ride, which was organised and managed by 360 Expeditions, was over four stages: London to Calais via Dover; Calais to Abbeville; Abbeville to Beauvais; Beauvais to Paris.
‘The last day was really emotional for all of us as we reached our goal in Paris, particularly cycling through the traffic around the Arc de Triomphe, before arriving at the Eiffel Tower” added Geoff.
“Despite the tiredness we really did have a lot of fun!
“I would really like to thank the many people who have helped and sponsored me for this event. I have managed to raise £4,000 for the air ambulance. This is in addition to the £1,200 that our annual cream teas and cakes event at Crackington Haven raised.”
