DAVID and Jackie Barnard of The Port Gaverne Hotel further cemented the long-established tradition of RNLI suppport from the hotel, presenting a substantial cheque for £2,111.50.

The sum came from fundraising efforts with customers and friends of the hotel over the past year.

The cheque was accepted on behalf of the station by senior helmsman and training officer Damien Bolton.

Chairman Bob Bulgin extended sincere thanks to David and Jackie from all concerned, stating that this generous donation formed a significant contribution towards the equipment and running costs of the Port Isaac Lifeboat and its dedicated mission of saving lives at sea.

Since the formation of Port Isaac Lifeboat Station with an Inshore D Class lifeboat in 1967, 646 launches have been carried out and 334 lives saved.

David Barnard and his wife Jackie said: “We are delighted to contribute to our essential local Royal National Lifeboat Service.

“We will commit to raising an even greater figure next year with more fundraising events.”
