A twitter campaign, #getgarytohereford, started by a local company, Prestige Events, has worked and the Take That star spent Tuesday, May 12th, touring the new Inpatient unit at St Michael's Hospice and meeting the staff and patients.

Jo Smith was behind the social media campaign. Jo and and Martha Summerfield, both from Prestige, set up an appeal to raise £136,000 to help fund the Redevelopment of St Michael's Hospice.

This money raised will pay for landscaping the gardens, patient furniture and hydrotherapy baths at the new redevelopment.

The aim of Jo and Martha's campaign was for Gary to perform at a fundraising concert for St Michael's Hospice.

They filmed a video, which featured people from all around Herefordshire trying to persuade Gary to come to the hospice. The video also includes the Mayor and Mayoress of Ross-on-Wye, Colin and Anne Gray, who are huge supporters of the hospice.
