GARDENS across the area are being opened as part of British Red Cross celebrating 150 years since Henri Dunant founded the charity, and in recognition of the British Red Cross effort in the first world war. Gardens open especially for the celebrations, include Bolts Quarry, by permission of owners Jackie and George Greengrass, and Lower Hamatethy, owned by Yolande Hall. Both gardens are in St Breward and were open on the same day. The poor weather did not daunt everyone walking round them to enjoy their unique atmosphere. For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
