AS part of their fundraising campaign, the gardens of Tredidon House, near Egloskerry, were opened to the general public by kind permission of Clive and Sarah Vinson, in aid of Children’s Hospice South West. Much restoration has taken place since they moved there just under five years ago.

Adding to the scene, musical entertainment by Garth Hedges of Milton Abbot, on his guitar and Tregadillett Songbirds, conducted by Roy Wilton, were enjoyed by everyone.

Many took the opportunity of a quiet stroll around the lake, after admiring the walled garden which was looking immaculate.

As well as the usual side shows, there was a silent auction of art work by local artists.

Cream teas and traditional cakes were served for all to enjoy.

A total of just under £1,500 was raised for Children’s Hospice South West funds. Commenting afterwards, local organiser Margaret O’Sullivan said it was a ‘terrific’ event. Many people were encouraged to pay a visit to Little Harbour, to see for themselves how and why the place is so treasured by all those families who use it.
