PATIENTS, their families and visitors to Stratton Community Hospital are benefitting from a new landscaped garden.

Since the rebuild of Stratton Community Hospital, which is run by Peninsula Community Health, the rear side rooms have looked out onto a steep bank of rubble and weed, running the whole length of the building.

The Rotary Club of Bude funded two small raised sensory beds around the inpatient sitting out area, and during this year the trustees of the League of Friends commissioned Shaun Curtis to landscape the remaining area.

Trustee and secretary Chris Roberts said: “Digging through rubble and solid clay was a real challenge but the outcome is delightful and already very much appreciated by patients/families and visitors to the hospital.”
