BUDE firefighters held their open day on Sunday, August 28.

As well as having a look around the station, some younger members of the community were given the opportunity to try out some of the equipment, under the watchful eye of some of the firefighters.

Refreshments were served, including over 200 cakes made by Jackie Sillifant, to support the Firefighters’ Charity.

Station manager Darryl Wallington said Jackie has been supporting their open day for many years and her cakes prove very popular with visitors and the regulars.
