THE Charles Causley Trust has been successful in securing further funding of £38,980 from the Arts Council England to support a writer in residency programme at the poet Charles Causley's house in Launceston over the next two years.

The residency will support the Causley Trust's aims for community engagement and literature development and hopes to attract a poet with an international reputation. The residency will give the writer the opportunity to further develop their own practice, whilst engaging a range of participants through a programme of events and activities. There will be opportunities to take part both online and in person.

The trust has also launched a new Charles Causley Poetry Competition, which will be judged by their patron, Sir Andrew Motion. With a first prize of £3,000, it's expected to attract entries from across the globe.
