DETERMINATION emanated from Shebbear Village Hall last Thursday (June 28), as opposers unanimously displayed a vote against wind turbine proposals in the area.

A meeting was called by Shebbear Parish Protection Group (SPPG) in response to the applications suggested for sites in and surrounding the village. In total there are 24 wind turbines within a six mile (10km) radius of Shebbear Village Square which are being discussed or given the go-ahead.

Three of these are proposed for sites on: Alscott Farm, the highest at 102m (332ft); Durpley Farm (Stibb Cross) 79m and Henscott Farm (Thornbury/Bradford) 46m.
