FUNDRAISER Bob Johns, of Week St Mary, has won in the Halifax Giving Extra Awards, and received £250 for his charity, the Robert Johns Leukaemia Fund.

Halifax — in partnership with Global radio's Capital FM, Heart FM and LBC stations — launched the Giving Extra Awards in November last year to celebrate unsung heroes.

The awards give residents the opportunity to recognise someone who goes the extra mile and makes a positive difference in their community, whether a local youth club leader or someone who buys groceries for elderly neighbours.
