Narberth and District Community and Sports Association is today celebrating the news that it has received a £59,965 funding boost from SITA Trust for a fitness suite renovation.
The SITA Trust award will allow refurbishment of the community centre's fitness suite to take place. Works will include painting and decorating of the fitness room and provision of new equipment.
Glinys Meredydd, the NDCSA chairperson, said: "The centre will go from strength to strength with the SITA Trust grant. We are delighted to receive the grant and be able to update the equipment as this is an extremely well attended fitness suite. This is especially welcome at a time when fitness is so important to health and wellbeing as this sort of provision is being cut elsewhere."
Marianne Ivin, of SITA Trust, added: "This fitness suite forms part of a large and very well used community centre. We are delighted to be able to help fund the refurbishment of the suite and in turn help with the increased health and wellbeing benefit it will provide.
"SITA Trust provides grants through the Landfill Communities Fund. This important source of funding has been available since 1997 and has provided such worthy projects with more than £1.4 billion."
