ALTARNUN Football Club’s application to the Cornwall Community Foundation for a grant to purchase new home and away pitch side dugouts has proved successful.

The donors linked to Cornwall Community Fund, decided Altarnun’s application had considerable merit, to benefit the club and the community. Therefore, the maximum grant applied for, was awarded.

The club committee, players and members chose to invite Altarnun Parish Council to support them in the official launch of this news. 

Available squad members and committee members attended a meeting of the parish council last month where councillors donned the Duchy Premier League club’s yellow and black team shirts, to show their total support and pleasure for yet another development for the community.

Over the coming months, the process to purchase and install the dugouts begins.

Club officer Chris Wonnacott, said: “Regular reports of the project will be supplied, and everyone will be most welcome to come and see the finished installation, and cheer on their community football club.

“Special thanks to Altarnun Parish Council members for their support.”
