THE chairman of the League of Friends of Launceston Hospital says they are 'well on the way' to being able to provide a second treatment room for the minor injury unit.
The Post reported (October 30) that the league had launched a fundraising campaign after a request from the hospital's matron.
The league needs to raise £18,800 to provide the new treatment room at the hospital.
League of Friends chairman Pam Parnell expressed thanks to those who have already fund raised or provided donations
Members of the league held an auction of promises at Homeleigh Garden Centre in November where more than £1,700 was made on the night.
Ms Parnell said: "We must give our grateful thanks to all who gave promises and all who bought them, to those members and others who donated the supper.
"We are well on the way towards the £18,800 we have to raise, and now await a start date."
