It was a triumphant return for Delabole Carnival, and it was clear the committee had pulled out all the stops to make this one of the best events to date.
A Delabole Carnival Committee spokesperson said: “Well, what can we say, what an amazing fun filled week we have had with glorious weather to entice us out. I think I can say on behalf of all the committee that it has been a successful relief to see everybody young and old enjoying our entertainment after a couple of turbulent years. It is such an honor for us to be able to arrange a week worth of fun yes, it’s hard work and needs many hands but we can all agree it is worth all our efforts over the year to plan and organise.
“We would like to give a huge thankyou to all the support we have been given whether it’s doing a night in the tent, just helping us set up the marquee or just carrying a collection bucket as you parade through our beautiful village. If we didn’t have this support carnival would not happen so we thank each and every one of you for giving up your time. We also give a big shout out to our spectacular carnival entries, what an amazing procession you gave us alongside our marching bands. Again, this would not happen if you didn’t put in that effort.
“Congratulations to all our prize winners if we could give prizes to everyone, we would you were all spectacular and what a variety you gave us.
“The committee would also like to remember our loved ones who have passed on over the last couple of years during the pandemic your faces have been sadly missed.
“So well done Delabole on making our return a huge success we hope you enjoyed our efforts and are open to ideas for next year.”
