THE first meeting of the local organising committee for the 2012 Gorsedd in Camelford has been planned for the new year.

The committee is the group who will make plans for the event — September 1 — which is hoped to be a big date in Camelford's diary next year.

Mayor of Camelford, Rob Rotchell, told the 'Post' that letters had been sent to all local organisations informing them of the meeting and asking if they would like to get involved.

The meeting will take place at the council offices, College Road, Camelford on Monday, January 9 at 7.30pm.

Cllr Rotchell said there has been some good response so far, but now that the new year approaches, plans have to be sorted. A number of Bards will attend the meeting to give people a history of the Gorsedd and what it entails.
