DESPITE the wet weather over the recent bank holiday weekend, fundraising efforts by the Friends of Bude Sea Pool (FoBSP) got off to a superb start.

More than £300 was raised for funds and plans are afoot to work with Big Blue Surf School on their surf day on July 3, with several more fundraising days at the pool in August, as well as holding a concert in the autumn.

• THE Friends of Bude Sea Pool are launching a new competition asking people of all ages to express themselves in support of the campaign.

A spokesperson said: "Now that the FoBSP are in full swing, we need a lovely logo to catch people's attention and explain why saving the sea pool is so important. So we're running a competition to design the FoBSP logo, in association with Seventh Wave Gallery in Bude. The winning logo will be seen on our merchandise and paperwork, posters and paraphernalia, plus we'll devote space on our own website to show off a selection of the best designs."
