This was a sponsored fundraiser in aid of the Children’s Hospice South West.
The colour of the hospice logo is green, so the idea of ‘Spring Greens’ was born. It was decided that those who wanted to, should have their hair coloured or streaked for this unique occasion!
Many heads of the general public turned, as if they couldn’t believe what they were seeing — all these green heads — with lots of complimentary comments received, much to the delight of the group.
The public were making a bee line for all the homemade cakes etc on sale, which didn’t take long to sell out. There were books, tombola, items of jewellery, and many other decorative items for sale, plus new donated hotter shoes, knitted items, and new donated clothes.
It was a fantastic fun-day, thoroughly enjoyed, knowing that it was for a most deserving charity making it all so worthwhile.
An amazing total of £730 was raised that day.
The group also welcomed Dominick Scotting, who is the recently appointed fundraiser for CHSW for this area, and introduced Neville Pope, who is the new fundraiser assistant. The group said it was good to get acquainted with them both.
Thanks were expressed to Kathleen Mills — Shine at Nine and also to Liz and Glynis at Scissor Trix, who did an amazing job on the group’s hair.
