A TINTAGEL lady celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends.
Gwendoline Bessie Edwards (née Smale) was born on December 31, 1913, into a family of four sisters and one brother.
She was born and bred in the Tintagel area; living at 'The Pit' in Trewarmett, until she met her husband Kenneth Colin Edwards.
They moved to Sea View Farm in Trewarmett after they married, and had two children, Aubrey and Caronne.
Gwen has four grandchildren, Stephen, Kevin, Julie, and Robert.
She helped run the farm and bed and breakfast with her family.
After Kenneth's death, Gwen moved into Molesworth Street, Tintagel, where she lived with her daughter, Caronne.
Gwen had many jobs; she worked for Major Serge the vicar, cooked and cleaned for Dr Shevaz, cooked for Dr Lawson and cooked and cleaned for George Olde.
