STUDENTS at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland, have been immersing themselves into college life during the recent annual fresher’s fayre, organised by the student union.

A variety of activities were on offer, including laser tag and a military assault course. There were also several exhibitors, who spoke to the students and distributed information.

Sarah Cotton, chair of the student union, said: “This year’s SU fresher’s fayre has been a great success. There was so much to do and lots of stalls to visit. The free ice cream was a big hit and the students have all had a great time.”

Military academy student, Adam Pook, said: “The fresher’s fayre has been awesome — we got to do laser tag and there was a rowing competition. Lots of people spoke to us on the stalls and we got some brilliant freebies, but the free ice cream was the best!”

Student liaison officer, Mia Giudetti, who organised the event, added: “Duchy College fresher’s fayre is our way of welcoming new students and showcasing the very best of what the college has to offer. It was packed with something for everyone.

“We had lots of feedback from the students who really enjoyed a vast range of activities, magnificent freebies and stalls. It is incredibly important to us that the students feel welcome and above all, happy at college. We would like to thank all our staff, exhibitors and visitors who made the event such a success.”
