DONATIONS made in memory of Hartland's Martyn Luckett, who died of Myocarditis, aged 19, will fund appointments at a Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) heart screening event to be held on the weekend of March 2 and 3.

A simple and quick ECG (electrocardiogram) test — normally costing £35 per person — could save the lives of the twelve healthy young people who die each week in the UK from undiagnosed heart conditions, the charity says, and it is urging young people between the age of 14 and 35 years of age to get screened — particularly if they are engaged in sport.
