FOUR generations of the Gooch family are joining together this Saturday (April 18) to celebrate 50 years of Newent Community School and Sixth Form.

The well-known family-run estate agents have seen relatives attend the school over the past 44 years and 71 years which includes the grammar school beforehand.

Grandparent Frank attended the grammar school before it was converted to the current community school in 1965. His children Steve, Angela, Andy, Chris and Mark all attended the school and Steve's children, Tom and Jo and Chris's children Emma and Josh all went, or are still attending, the community school.

A large number of ex-pupils will also reunite at the school, on Watery Lane, to celebrate.

To help the celebration there will be videos of previous school holiday trips, music being performed all around the school in busking format by students, former students and even some members of staff.

Also there is a large number of whole school and house photographs on view throughout the school.

The event starts at 2pm to 6pm.
