One of the main issues that has been identified in the feedback received so far by Launceston Forum is the need for a new health centre or to expand the capacity of the existing health centre.

Launceston Forum is leading on the consultation for the updating of the Launceston 2020+ plan and one contributor commented: "The current health centre is understood to have outgrown its current premises; what is certainly true is that parking for those who use it, whether as medical staff or patients, is no longer adequate."

This is just one of a number of ideas from the feedback. Other ideas include Race Hill and St Stephens Hill should both be made one way for their entire length; people should be able to park for half an hour in the town centre for 10p; re-creation of the 'Launceston and District Publicity Committee' to attract more visitors; making a football pitch in Coronation Park; moving the taxis to Westgate Street and redeveloping the Old Cattle Market car park. These are some of the issues that are being raised on the Launceston Forum's website http://www.launcestonforum.org.uk">www.launcestonforum.org.uk.

Peter Casey, chair of Launceston Forum, said: "We have received some very interesting suggestions through the website and we are encouraging everyone to have their say. If you do not have access to the internet then please write to me at Launceston College giving your opinion of what should happen to Launceston and the surrounding area over the next few years. We are engaging with Cornwall, town and parish councillors, but we also want to hear the opinions of the general public."

He continued: "The forum are holding a consultation day in Launceston Town Square on Tuesday, May 25, from 10am to 7pm, and through the generosity of Mr Phillip Warren we will be giving away free bacon butties and a cup of tea prepared by Launceston Town Band members. So come along, see what's going on and have your say."
