KATHERINE Picot, until recently a Macmillan Nurse and latterly following two years at Ridley Hall Theological College, Cambridge, was ordained at St Paul's Cathedral on Saturday.

Katherine was a pupil at Trekenner Primary School from 1977 to 1985 before continuing her education at Callington Community College, where her mother taught, and then training as a nurse at St Barth­olomew's Hospital in London before obtaining her nursing degree in palliative care at Oxford Brookes University in Oxford.

Supported by numerous friends, family and colleagues, her ordination was followed by a celebratory supper in the Great Hall at St Bartholomew's Hospital.

Katherine commences her ministry in the USA, having accepted a three year appointment as part of the pastoral care team serving the 6,000 strong congregation of St Martin's Church in Houston, Texas.
