KATHERINE Picot, until recently a Macmillan Nurse and latterly following two years at Ridley Hall Theological College, Cambridge, was ordained at St Paul's Cathedral on Saturday.
Katherine was a pupil at Trekenner Primary School from 1977 to 1985 before continuing her education at Callington Community College, where her mother taught, and then training as a nurse at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London before obtaining her nursing degree in palliative care at Oxford Brookes University in Oxford.
Supported by numerous friends, family and colleagues, her ordination was followed by a celebratory supper in the Great Hall at St Bartholomew's Hospital.
Katherine commences her ministry in the USA, having accepted a three year appointment as part of the pastoral care team serving the 6,000 strong congregation of St Martin's Church in Houston, Texas.
