A FORMER teacher was joined by family and friends, along with a surprise visit from previous pupils, for her 100th birthday. Grace Masters from St Breward, born Grace Muriel Fittock, moved to the village when she was 18 after graduating from Exeter University, to become the infants' teacher at the school in 1934. A number of her former pupils, who still live in the village, surprised Grace by attending her 100th birthday at a party with relatives and residents, held in the village hall. St Breward Handbell Ringers also performed, to Grace's delight as she has a particular love of the village handbells and music. For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
