HOLSWORTHY’S new mayor, Cllr Jon Hutchings presented the previous mayor, Cllr John Allen with a bunch of flowers and a commemorative gift to thank him for his hard work over the last three years as mayor of the town.

Cllr Hutchings said: “I would like to make this presentation to John Allen for the last three years service he has given this council as mayor and to say thank you for all his hard work.”

Upon being presented with a bunch of flowers and his gift, Cllr Allen said: “I would like to say thank you to all the councillors, I am very surprised by this but very greatful.

“It has been a pleasure working with all of you, through some pretty hard times but mainly through many enjoyable times on this council.

“I want to say a big thank you to Jon Hutchings for this presentation and to wish him luck for his future term as mayor.”
