A MAN found dead in the grounds of Caldicot Castle played football for Chepstow Town, the Review has been told.

The 26-year-old, named locally as Karlos Baynton, was found at around 7.10am on Monday morning.

A large number of friends gathered at The Haywain pub in Caldicot on Monday evening to remember Mr Daynton who lived in Castle Lodge Close, Caldicot.

A message on social media site Twitter read: "Thoughts are with everyone connected @ChepstowTownFC on this sad day."

A friend of Mr Daynton told the Review: "He was a lovely guy."

Gwent Police confirmed the body of a 26-year-old man was found in the grounds of Caldicot Castle at around 7.10am on Monday morning.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.
