LAUNCESTON Foodbank approached Liberty Fitness owner Jordan Stevens to ask if participating in the foodbank’s ‘business of the month’ project was something she would like to do — Jordan was very keen to be involved having supported the Foodbank in the past.
During the month of May Jordan arranged that any new members could have their joining fee waived in exchange for donating two bags of non-perishable food.
In addition Jordan ran a competition for her existing members, this involved earning points for bringing two bags of food donations.
The total amount donated at the end of April was 226.04kg a fabulous amount and a wonderful achievement by this business.
The food will be appreciated by those clients who are in crisis and makes a huge difference at a difficult time.
Helen Bailey, chairman of Launceston Foodbank, said: “Thank you to all the Liberty Fitness members and staff for the generosity and to Jordan for the innovative way in which to achieve this donation.
“If you would like to be a business taking part in our ‘business of the month’ please contact Suzanne Dathan, foodbank manager at Launceston Foodbank on 01566 779550 or alternatively email [email protected]
“The foodbank and foodbank charity shop are in need of volunteers and if you could spare two hours a week to help at either part of the project please contact Suzanne for an application form or to chat about what is involved.”
