After 25 years as Tintagel Primary School secretary, Annette Collins retired on Friday, the last day of term. She was bid a fond farewell from staff, children, parents, helpers and other colleagues that she has worked with over the years. Annette, who lives in Tintagel, started working as secretary after she and her family moved to the village. At the time, her son and daughter were pupils at the school aged nine and six. She said she has witnessed many changes over the 25 years, and left with mixed emotions. "I'm still staying on as a governor, so will still be maintaining links with the school. I had a lovely day, it was wonderful really. They invited everyone that I worked with over the years." Annette was presented with a number of gifts and a card, signed by everyone. One of the gifts was a picture of Tintagel School, which has been drawn by some of the children. She told the 'Post' that she was looking forward to her retirement, and it would give her an opportunity to indulge in some of her hobbies, including walking and reading. Annette's husband also retired at Christmas, so they plan to explore Cornwall a bit more.
