THE 15th Lanteglos by Camelford Flower Festival was held at St Julitta Church, Lanteglos, over three days from Friday, August 31, to Sunday, September 2.

Joan Goodman began the flower festivals in 1989, and her family has since taken over the mantle.

The theme this year was ‘arts and crafts’. People’s imagination really shone through and thanks were expressed to the arrangers for their expertise in creating stunning arrangements and filling the church with vibrant colours and tremendous perfume.

Local organisations and businesses sponsored the arrangements and the organising committee expressed its thanks to them.

Refreshments were on sale throughout the festival as well as a raffle. Thanks were expressed to everyone who donated food and prizes and helped man the door, raffle and refreshments table. Talented organists also gave their time and entertained the visitors throughout all three days.

The church is in need of a new roof and work is due to start this autumn.

The Friends of Lanteglos Church are continually raising money as well as applying for grants. The Friends are almost there but, as with all things, the money required becomes greater as time passes.

The weekend was deemed a great success by all. A well attended service was held on the Sunday morning and the Tintagel Orpheus Male Voice Choir entertained the audience in the evening. The profit raised during the weekend was in excess of £2,350.
