'SONGS of Praise' was the theme of the flower festival at St James Church, Kilkhampton, recently. Visitors enjoyed 30 displays depicting favourite hymns and songs, beautifully arranged to the usual high standards. The festival brings the village together to work as a cheerful and friendly team and there were contributions from Kilkhampton Methodist Chapel and Christian Fellowship as well as Morwenstow Church. Also on display was a presentation of memorabilia from the first world war, put together by Joe Gifford, Godfrey Harrison and Michael Heard, which was informative and enjoyable. A songs of praise service was well attended on Sunday, as was the buffet lunch afterwards. The organisers have extended their thanks to everyone who arranged, sponsored or helped to make the flower festival a success.
