A MAN had to be rescued from his van after becoming stuck in flood water at North Petherwin.
Fire crews from Launceston, and the water rescue teams from Bude and St Austell carried out the rescue last Wednesday, December 30, around midday.
Crews in dry suits using depth poles successfully secured the vehicle and used lines and a ladder to rescue the driver, who was then taken by boat to dry land.
A spokesperson for Bude Community Fire Station wrote on the station’s Facebook page: “The water appeared to be shallow enough to drive through but the van couldn’t make it. Please do not drive through flood water unless you know it’s safe to do so.”
