A LAUNCESTON women has voiced her fears for the future after being told her 'vital' floating support service will cease at the end of March.

Sue Northcott has received floating support from Stonham for the past 12 months.

Her support worker, Shelley Moore, visits her home once a week and helps her by making phone calls and offering additional support where needed.

Recently, Sue received a letter from Sue Johns, Operations Manager for Stonham, which said: "We are writing to inform you that sadly the Stonham Floating Support Services throughout Cornwall will be closing on March 31, 2011. This is a Cornwall Council and Supporting People Team decision following the announcement of the government cuts and council budgets.

"We will be working closely with you over the coming months to ensure that you receive the support you need in the lead up to the closure of the service."

To hear what what has to say on the "devastating" decision, and the opinion of North Cornwall MP Dan Rogerson, see this week's edition of the 'Post'.
