EIGHTEEN-year-old Flo Bonner has been awarded a place in the National Youth Music Theatre's new production of 'Not the End of the World' at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Flo, from Saltash, was among more than 1,200 young people across the UK and Ireland assessed on acting, improvisation, singing, and dance and movement. She was one of just 20 per cent accepted.
Charlotte Conquest, from the National Youth Music Theatre, said: 'Flo displayed a great attitude, passion and ability.'
The teenager will attend workshops at the end of May in Birmingham, and rehearsals in July and August in Edinburgh.
Flo's involvement will cost her more than £2,000 and she is fundraising with members of her family.
The National Youth Music Theatre has given her a £875 bursary and the Saltash Youth Council has donated £150. Saltash Rotary Club has inviting Flo to perform at its cheese and wine evening to raise more funds.
Flo has also written to various local businesses asking for support and is hopeful she will have the chance to pack bags at stores.
In addition, the young performer plans to organise and feature in a fundraising concert.
Flo is a pupil at saltash.net community school and one of her A-level subjects is drama.
She has been offered a conditional place at Chichester University studying music and musical theatre.
In the past decade, Flo has won numerous cups and trophies at local music speech and drama festivals. She has also performed at many charity events helping to raise thousands of pounds for good causes.
