The annual Rotary Club of Tenby Young Musicians Competition was held at St. Johns Church, Tenby, last Tuesday evening.

The event has taken place every year for the last 10 years and it again saw fantastic performances from a number of talented young musicians, with the competitors playing a wide variety of instruments.

They were: Hope Yeates - flute (Tenby Juniors); Charlotte McSweeney - French Horn (St. Florence); Imogen Stace-Smith - trumpet (Manorbier); Isabella Ferguson-Ward - violin (St. Teilo's); Lucas Geertman - oboe (Tenby Juniors); Tom Davies - violin (St. Florence); Matthew Coburn - euphonium (Tenby Juniors); Alex Collinson - trumpet (St. Florence).

The choir from St. Florence School entertained the audience, accompanied by Rebecca Evans on piano, while the two musical adjudicators, Tom Cullen and Robert Smith, had the very difficult task of choosing the winner.

The winner was Hope Yeates from Tenby Junior School, who gave beautiful performances of 'Allegro' and 'Nobody Knows' on flute.

Tenby Rotary Club president Nigel Ayers would like to thank St. Johns Church, all of the parents and teachers who supported the children and Rotarian Bob Storey, who organised the evening.
