A SMALL fire at a flat in Northgate, Hartland was extinguished by firefighters at around 12.45pm on Sunday.

On their arrival, fire crews from Hartland and Bideford confirmed it was a small fire involving a saucepan and got to work extinguishing it.

The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus wearers with a hose reel jet.

The fire and smoke damage was confined to the kitchen area and the flat was ventilated by crews.

l Firefighters from Delabole attended a property in Advent that had a carbon monoxide alarm sounding at around 5.25am on Monday morning. Crews found zero readings but removed contents from a log burner.

Three females were in the care of the ambulance service with the effects of carbon monoxide poisoning.
