THE Post has chosen its photography competition winner for January.

Our winner of the month is Graham Heard, from Morwenstow, who has captured a beautifully eerie image of the countryside, named ‘Overlooking Coombe Valley’.

Graham’s photograph (pictured right) will be featured as the first month of an end-of-year calendar for 2020. Congratulations, Graham.

The Post also selected a weekly winner in January — Andrew Axford from Holsworthy, with ‘The first coating of the snow on the fields near Cullever steps on Dartmoor’ (shown below).

Due to the snow that hit on Thursday, January 31, the Post was unable to announce another weekly winner on Friday.

However, a number of favourites were posted on social media, notably 11-year-old Eden Downing with her image overlooking a sunny Sandymouth beach; Adam Mann from Launceston with ‘Launceston Castle transcending the low morning cloud’; Nicky Foulds from Polyphant with ‘Sunrise after the super blood moon’; and James Page from Tremail, near Camelford, with his warming image of the countryside where he lives.

Fancy being our winner for February? With January now at an end, the Post is delighted to announce its theme for February — ‘Pawprints in the Sand’.

Grab your camera, wellies and coat and head to the nearest beach with your favourite canine friend, to be in with a chance of being February’s winner.

For those with an Instagram account, all entries should be posted to your page, tagging ‘The Post Series’ (@thepostseries) to be followed by a direct message to The Post Series giving your name, contact details, location and a title for the image.

For those without Instagram, all entries should be sent to [email protected] for consideration, along with your name, location and title of the image.

Good luck to everyone taking part!
