A NEW film group has started in Launceston.
LE-film, Launceston Ecology Film group, held its first screening in late October. The audience greatly enjoyed ‘Night Moves’, a 2014 thriller in the style of Hitchcock with a strong environmental theme.
Roger Creagh-Osborne, one of the organisers, said: “We aim to show films which are entertaining and not just doom-laden preachy documentaries. Night Moves was an excellent tense thriller which also raised some really interesting questions in discussion afterwards.“
On Friday, November 18 the group is showing a double bill: ‘Sizzle’ — described as a global warming comedy — and ‘Farm for the Future’, a reflection on the place of traditional small farms that surround people in North Cornwall as vital for both our future food supply and for the health of the wider ecosystem.
The group meets every four weeks at 7:30pm in the Liberty Suite above Jerichos — all are welcome for a small donation to enjoy the films and talk afterwards.
There is a website www.lefilm.uk and a Facebook group ‘lefilmuk’ for more information.
