THE recent launch of the first edition of the Holsworthy Writers Group’s journal, Notes from the West Country, has been well received, writes Christine Williams.

The group’s aim is to provide the considerable latent talent of local writers with an opportunity to see their work published.

The publication is not intended to make a profit, merely to derive a modest income from sales to cover the costs incurred in producing the first edition, while providing a small surplus to carry forward and fund future editions.

The group plans to produce the next edition of its journal towards the end of November, for which a substantial amount of material has already been submitted and they hope to hear from other aspiring writers who feel that they have work worthy of consideration for future editions.

Further information can be obtained from the group’s leader, Simon Gale, at [email protected].

A few copies of the first edition are left, priced at £2.95 each, and can be obtained by emailing Malcolm Orr at [email protected]
