THIS year’s Bradworthy carnival was a roaring success with a bumper number of entries, fantastic weather and record crowds.

The sun shone on Saturday, August 26 as pirates, majorettes, zombies and many more began to assemble on Bradworthy playing fields for the annual village carnival. Organisers said the number of entries were the highest they had seen in years and the standard of floats and walking entries were also extremely high.

Huge crowds, which gathered around the village ready to watch the colourful procession, also enjoyed the entertainers, stalls, rides and variety of food on offer in the square.

Following the procession, popular band Loose Cannons had everyone dancing into the night. The evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display.

The carnival committee wished to thank everyone that took part in this year’s event as well as all those that came along and supported the carnival.

The committee is also grateful to the generous local businesses and individuals who sponsor the carnival as well as everyone who attends its fundraising events throughout the year. Without their support, this fantastic village event would not be able to take place.
