TWO fire brigade appliances from Launceston and one from Holsworthy Fire Station attended a report of a bedroom fire in a property at Ashwater just before 5pm on Sunday.

The fire crews, some wearing breathing apparatus, worked together using two hosereels and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire in a first floor bedroom of the two-storey property.

A positive pressure ventilation fan was then used to clear the smoke from the property and ambulance crews gave first aid at the scene to one person who was suffering from smoke inhalation.

Fire crews left the scene at 6.15pm.
