THE Holsworthy Fire Station crew held a charity jumble sale on Saturday, February 11, in the Memorial Hall to raise money for the Firefighters Charity.
The sale began at 2.30pm and all proceeds went to the fire station’s chosen charity. Attendance at the jumble sale was good, with many customers filing through the doors and not ending until 5.30pm in the evening.
Holsworthy Fire Service also made recent door-to-door collections.
The total raised through the jumble sale and collections was £960.26 and after expenses the fire service were able to donate an incredible £858.48 to the Fire Fighters Charity.
PFCSO Mark James said: “We were grateful for support from Waitrose and the Co-op in Holsworthy who both donated raffle prizes, and the many members of the local community who supported the charity by donating their jumble.
“We would also like to thank the small army of volunteers who gave up lots of their time to help us prepare and run the jumble sale, last Saturday.”
